February 1954 the Plomo mummy was found at this site. In the background, from left to right: Marmolejo (6,108m), San José (5,856m), Loma Larga (5,404m), Mesón Alto (5,257m). The Cerro del Plomo (5,424m) is not to be confused with the Nevado El Plomo (6,070m), which lies on the border about 20km to the north-east. (Cf.
