Description |
English: Albert J. Rhodes opened his first store in Seattle in 1907. While visiting the East Coast, Mr. Rhodes went to the John Wanamaker store in Philadelphia and heard the famous pipe organ there. He decided that after his family opened their new expanded store in Seattle, they would install an Aeolian organ. Mr. Rhodes died in 1921, and his widow, Harriet W. Rhodes, carried out his wishes. The organ was installed in 1927 with Harry Reed as chief organist. Handwritten on sleeve: Rhodes Co. Pipe Organ.
