Summary
[edit]Used by cartographers for coastal mapping.
Found on L'Astrolabe wreck, from the last La Pérouse's expedition.
Another graphometer, made by Lennel in Paris in 1781, was found in Numbo Bay in 1885. This might confirm that La Pérouse actually went to New Caledonia during his last voyage.
Musée maritime de Nouvelle-Calédonie, Nouméa, New Caledonia.
