The Cat, who was suffering from indiges-tion and feeling seriously indisposed, couldonly eat thirty-five mullet with tomato sauce,and four portions of tripe with Parmesancheese; and because she thought the tripe wasnot seasoned enough, she asked three times forthe butter and grated cheese! The Fox would also willingly have pickeda little, but as his doctor had ordered him astrict diet, he was forced to content himselfsimply with a hare dressed with a sweet andsour sauce, and garnished lightly with fatchickens and early pullets.
