English: Master Chief of the Navy Rick West speaks with Sailors deployed to the Combined Security Transition Command - Afghanistan in Kabul after being presented a CSTC-A chief mess coin from Chief Petty Officer Troy Murphy, a CSTC-A command surgeons combat medic. West and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead are on a trip to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility to thank Sailors and Marines for their significant contributions in helping to bring stability and prosperity to the region by supporting maritime security operations. During the visit to CSTC-A Roughead and West presented awards, pinned on rank and held an open forum welcoming questions from all sailors. The awards included Blue Jacket of the Quarter and Sailor of the Quarter, and pinning on the newly promoted rank of two Sailors. The question and answers segment consisted mostly of inquiries about the new MCPON and his intentions with the new promotion. |
