Het Nederlands Loodswezen is verdeeld over vier regio’s, te weten: Noord Nederland, Amsterdam-IJmond, Rotterdam-Rijnmond en de Scheldemonden. De beloodsing van loodsplichtige schepen wordt momenteel uitgevoerd door de volgende vaartuigen: 3 stuks jet aangedreven tenders van de Aquila klasse, de Aquila, Draco en de Orion; 9 stuks jet aangedreven tenders van de Discovery klasse, de Apollo, Columbia, Discovery, Endeavour, Enterprise, Explorer, Gemini, Mercury en de Pioneer; 3 stuks jet aangedreven tenders van de Lynx klasse, de Lynx, Lyra en Lacerta; 2 stuks schroef aangedreven tenders van de Hercules klasse, de Hercules en de Hydra; 2 stuks conventionele tenders van de Jan van Gent klasse, de Reiger en de Wulp; 2 z.g. Swath's (catamaranachtige) , de Cetus en de Perseus; 8 vaartuigen van de Jol P-klasse en tot slot. 3 stuks grote Loodsvaartuigen, de Polaris, Pollux en Procyon Verder hebben de loodsen nog de beschikking over een helikopter.

In de maand mei van 2015 werd een nieuwe loodstender, de Libra te water gelaten en binnenkort komt daar de loodstender Lesath nog bij.
