24 Gershon Agron. The houses were built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by the Arab-Christian Lorenzo family, who lived there with wealthy Arab and Jewish families. On the roof of the inner house placed the statue of the Madonna.

Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_71321_20200822_185537_2.jpg Notes: מחנה ישראל היתה השכונה השניה שנבנתה מחוץ לחומות העיר העתיקה והראשונה שהוקמה על ידי תושבי העיר העתיקה עבור עצמם. הקרקעות נרכשו על-ידי יהודים יוצאי צפון אפריקה מהיוונים אורתודוכסים בשנים 1864-66. בשכונה התגוררו יהודים וערבים-נוצרים וכך גם בחצר בגרשון אגרון 24 שבתיה נבנו על-ידי משפחת לורנצו. במלחמת השחרור עזבה המשפחה למעט הבת עפיפי לורנצו שהתגוררה שם ושמרה על הבתים. לאחר מותה עברו הבתים לידי מדינת ישראל אשר מכרה לדיירים ולאדם פרטי שמשכיר את יתר הדירות. על גג הבית הפנימי מתנוסס פסל המדונה.
