Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_69766_DSC02417.JPG Notes: טִירַת כַּרְמֶל היא עיר במחוז חיפה . טירת כרמל ממוקמת בין המורדות המערביים של הר הכרמל לבין הים התיכון דרומית לחיפה בסמוך לכביש 4 הכביש הישן מחיפה לתל אביב. לטירת כרמל רצועת חוף באורך של 2.6 קquotמ.בשטח בו נמצאת היום טירת כרמל הייתה קיימת העיירה הערבית א-טירה או טירת אל-לוז טירת השקדים שהייתה מיושבת מאז התקופה הביזנטית בארץ ישראל. בשנת 2017 נחשף מכלול ארכיטקטוני שהתקיים כמעט ברציפות כ־1700 שנה החל בתקופה הרומית וכלה בעת החדשה וכן נמצאו מטבעות כלי חרס צמידי זכוכית וממצאי מתכתויקיפדיה
