Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_63441_DSC_5882.JPG Notes: הכפר שוכן על רצועת כורכר בגובה עד 20 מ מעל הים.גובל בקיסריה ולמרגלותיו זורם החלק התחתון של נחל התנינים.בשנות ה 70 של המאה ה 19כלל הישוב בשולי ביצות כבארה 15 בתים חושות ותחנות קמח. מוצא התושבים ממשפחות שונות שהגיעו מעמק הירדן(עור),מקדום בשומרון,מאל עריש ומצרים וכן מהחורן וסודן.התפרנסו מדיג בביצות ובים התיכון וכן מקדרות מאדמות הביצה.במלחמת 48 לא נפגע הישוב עקב יחסיו הטובים עם זכרון יעקוב.
