Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_62446_מצד בוקק3.jpg Notes: מצד בוקק הוא מצודה ביזנטית מדגם קסטלום, השוכנת ממערב לעין בוקק, על גדתו הצפונית של נחל בוקק, מול בתי המלון הממוקמים בחוף ים המלח. בתקופה הביזנטית הייתה המצודה בשימוש, עד שננטשה באופן סופי בתקופה הערבית בארץ ישראל. חוקרים מתארכים את זמן בנייתו של המצד לאמצע המאה השישית לספירה ואת חורבנו לסוף המאה השביעית. מטבעות מהמאה השישית נמצאו מתחת לרצפות החדרים המשויכות לשלב הראשון של המבנה. מתארכים את כל שלבי המבנה ומשך קיומו אל התקופה הביזנטית המאוחרת.
