Pikerealskolen , Trondhjems borgerlige Realskoles Pigeskole, Døtreskolen, tidligere skole i Dronningens gate 1 B. Trondhjems pikerealskole var landets eldste pikeskole, grunnlagt 1801. Fru Hilchen Sommerschield var den første kvinnelige lærer ved pikerealskolen i årene 1801 - 1826. Tomten lå øde 1814 og tilhørte da grosserer W. Geelmuyden. Senere eide grosserer Hermann Hoë eiendommen og hans arvinger overdrog den 1841 til Trondheim børs, som imidlertid oppførte sitt nybygg i Kongens gate. 1858 ble eiendommen solgt til Trondhjems borgerlige Realskole (Realskolen), som oppførte en treetasjes bygning for Pikerealskolen her. Bygningen ble utstyrt med flatt tak, som skulle brukes som skolegård. Den stod ferdig 1861 og kostet 11.000 speciedaler. Pikerealskolen holdt til her inntil 1900, da den flyttet til Realskolens nybygg i Vår Frue gate. [Kilde: Trondheim Byleksikon 2008] |
