Description
English: Piddocks (Pholadidae), presumably Rough piddocks (Zirphaea or Zirfaea pilsbryi) – "Saw zillions of these today during the low low tide (-2.3 feet below mean lower low water) in Puget Sound. The siphons are about a half inch to an inch wide. They squirted streams of water several feet into the air now and then, and could close up and retreat into the sand if disturbed."
