Carkin by NathanielLedyard, for £120. In this house, in1829, was born the late Mayor CharlesAugustus Williams. Following Federal Street eastward,to its junction with Main, the obsevercannot fail to notice the large, siib-stantial residence of Sebastian D. Law-rence, and just north, on Main Street,that of Sidney H. Miner. To thenorthward, on North Main Street, aretlie well kept grounds and elegantresidence of Mrs. Harriet Allen,widow of the late James Allen : and asliort distance beyond is ■•Hillside,which comprises the fine residence,liuildings, and farm of Ray LeMis. Uiversiije Park, on Mohegan Ave-nue, is a short distance beyond on theline of The Norwich Trolley. Theviews from the high lands along thissection are superb.
