Description |
English: A heavy cannon stands in a grassy area surrounded by trees, with a concrete picnic table and trash can behind. The cannon in the picnic area of the Appomattox Court House Landscape dates to the Civil War period, and the tables appear to originate from the era of commemoration. Although fences are not historic, they are possibly based on historic fencelines and fence types. This illustrates how contemporary visitors can experience the layers of significance at this site.
