Deutsch: romanischer Dom (Kathedrale Santa Maria Assunta und Santa Giustina) von Piacenza. Die Marmorfassade mit einer Zwerggalerie, großen Rosette, drei herrlichen Portalen vor einem Säulengang verbirgt das Innere in Form eines Lateinischen Kreuzes von großer Einfachheit, aber bereichert von grandiosen Fresken in der Kuppel von Guercino und Morazzone und jene des Presbyteriums von C. Procaccini und L. Carracci. Sehenswert auch die große Hallenkrypta unter dem Presbyterium, 108 Marmorsäulen tragen die Decke. Beachtenswerter Hochaltar und Kanzel; Bauzeit fast 110 Jahre vom ersten Drittel des 12. bis zum ersten Drittel des 13. Jahrhunderts; 100 Jahre später Bau des 71 m hohen Campanile, aus Ziegelsteinen gemauert, trägt einen 1341 aufgestellten drei Meter hohen Bronzeengel. Vor dem Dom auf der Piazza Duome befindet sich die Gedenksäule für einen der ersten sog. Säulenheiligen Sabinus von Piacenza (* im 4. Jahrhundert in Italien; † 3. Dezember 421 in Piacenza). Er war Bischof von Piacenza und Schüler und Freund des Heiligen Ambrosius. Sein Vorname leitet sich vom Volk der Sabiner ab. Er ist Schutzpatron gegen Überschwemmungen. Sein Gedenktag ist der 11. Dezember. Auch am 3. Dezember (Todestag) und 17. Januar (Tag der Beisetzung) wird seiner gedacht. |
