obični zviždak Opis vrste D.t. 10-12 cm. Rasprostranjen je u gotovo celoj Evropi, kao i u velikom delu severne i umerene Azije, delovima Bliskog Istoka i Male Azije. U jugozapadnim područjima je stanarica, dok je na većem delu areala selica. Naseljava različita šumska staništa i žbunastu vegetaciju, od mediteranskih makija, preko svih tipova listopadnih šuma, do tajgi i visokoplaninskih četinarskih šuma. Gnezda pravi blizu zemlje, u gustoj vegetaciji. Hrani se beskičmenjacima, uglavnom sitnim insektima. Populacija u Evropi je stabilna. U Srbiji se gnezdi stabilna populacija procenjena na 400.000–650.000 parova (Puzović et al 2003).
