Summary
[edit]DescriptionPhobos seen by Mars Express in 3D (4437605429).jpg |
This image, taken by the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on board ESA’s Mars Express spacecraft, is a 3D stereo composite of the surface of the moon Phobos on 10 March 2010 during orbit 7926. The image data were taken from a distance of 278 km with a spatial resolution of about 9 m/pixel. All images are contrast-enhanced and geometrically adjusted for flight movements. The anaglyph has also been slightly geometrically adjusted at the left rim of the Phobos image to correct for viewing conditions. Launched on 2 June 2003, Mars Express was the first fully European mission to any planet. It is an exciting challenge for European technology and is playing a key role in an international exploration programme spanning two decades.
