English: A Place to Grow (phingbodhipakkiya_amanda_10.jpg)
Completed: June 2019 Dimensions: 30’ x 100’ Materials: acrylic paint Four faces, all women of color, surround the word, GROW, in an explosion of diverse verdant greenery. A tribute to communities of color in the area that are so often overlooked and based on the ideas of local youth in the local Boys and Girls Club on Drake University’s campus, this mural is a celebration of growth, safe spaces and a feeling of belonging. |
