English: Phillis Hurrell (1746-1826), 1762 portrait by Sir Joshua Reynolds. In 1766, four years after having her portrait painted, Phillis married Robert Froude (1741-1770), patron of Molland-cum-Knowstone Church in Devon. The marriage was brief. Froude died in 1770 while Phillis was pregnant with their fourth child. The son born posthumously was w:Robert Hurrell Froude (1771–1859), Archdeacon of Totnes, in Devon.
