Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Phillipsite-K (FOV 3.8 x 2.5 mm)
Locality: Poudrette quarry (Demix quarry; Uni-Mix quarry; Desourdy quarry; Carrière Mont Saint-Hilaire), Mont Saint-Hilaire, Rouville RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada
Found June 1997. MOB coll.
This type of phillipsite comes from the same find as similar looking aggregates of gobbinsite. (File:Gobbinsite, Gmelinite-Na-172031.jpg) However a closer look reveals squarish cross sections and pyramidal terminations instead of spiky "chevrons". Similar material was optically ID by Bill Henderson as "phillipsite". But the only phillipsite species for this environment on Horvath's list (Lapis, Rivista) is phillipsite-K.
Deutsch: Phillipsit-K (Sichtfeld 3,8 x 2,5 mm)
Fundort: Steinbruch Poudrette (Demix, Uni-Mix, Desourdy), Mont Saint-Hilaire, Rouville RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Kanada
