Author Philip Slier

From a letter of Philip (Flip) Slier who was killed (gassed) by the Germans April 9, 1943 at Sobibor extermination camp Poland The letter reads -

Dear Father and Mother,
Have arrived in the camp. Fairly comfortable. Reasonal bed. 3 blankets. Clean. Good atmosphere., decent people. We have very little freedom.
In Overijssel we are allowed to leave camp for an hour now and then. In Drente province just north of Overijssel it is forbidden. Send me a
windbreaker as soon as possible. Clogs (urgently needed). Camp knife. Little to eat. It's possible that soon it will be forbidden to receive
packages. Don't let this go any further, none of this is certain. Had a good journey. Greet everyone for me. A kiss from Flip. Be brave.
