Description A British Royal Air Force McDonnell Douglas Phantom FGR.2 fighter (serial XV434) is lifted by crane after a landing accident at Naval Station Argentia, Newfoundland (Canada), 27 March 1969. Note partially retracted right landing gear and dented tank. XV434 later crashed in the Yorkshire Dales near West Burton, 30 km north west of Harrogate, Yorkshire (UK), on 7 January 1986 while in service with No. 29 Squadron RAF.
