[edit]DescriptionPfarrkirche Wittichenau AB 2011 04.JPG | Katoholische Pfarrkirche "St. Mariä Himmelfahrt" in Wittichenau. Bereits um 1000 soll eine Holzkirche existiert haben, sie wurde 1230 ersetzt, 1429 durch die Hussiten zerstört, dann wieder aufgebaut bis 1440. Danach immer wieder Reparaturen und Erweiterungen, der letzte größere Eingriff in die dreischiffige Hallenkirche erfolgte 1971/72, bei der die Emporeneinbauten, mit Ausnahme der Orgelempore, entfernt wurden. Im Hintergrund der Hauptaltar: Blockaltar aus Lausitzer Granit, 1972, von Gottfried Zawadzki (Kamenz; * 1922); Hochaltar, 1722/23, von Maćij Wjacław Jakula/Mathias Wenzel Jäckel (Wittichenau/Prag; 1655–1738); Altarwerk, datiert auf 1597, von Andreas Dreßler (Kamenz; 1530–1604) |
