Портрет Петра Дмитриевича Еропкина П.Д. Еропкин (1724—1805) начал службу в 1736 году, участвовал в Семилетней войне, за что был произведен в генерал-поручики, но вскоре „по слабости здоровья" уволен и назначен сенатором. Во время эпидемии чумы в 1771 году ему было поручено ..охранять" Москву „от чумной заразы". После двенадцати лет отставки, в 1786 году, вновь назначен московским главнокомандующим, но вскоре „болезнями истощенные силы" заставили его покинуть этот пост. Еропкин был гостеприимен и хлебосолен по-старинному, его внешность и манеры отличались старомодной сановитостью; он ездил с трубачом, который трубил когда Еропкин останавливал экипаж. Умер скоропостижно за партией в рокамболь. П.Д. Еропкин изображен с орденами Андрея Первозванного, Владимира I степени, Александра Невского и Анны 1 степени (определение персонажа портрета принадлежит Б.А. Косолапову). |
