English: Petition requesting the city of Seattle, Washington, U.S. to outlaw the sale of 'malt-fed milk', July 9, 1891. "Malt-fed milk" was milk from cows fed leftover malt from breweries; the petition claimed that such milk caused disease. Ordinance 1787 passed the following month, prohibiting the sale of such milk in Seattle. |
