Description
Français : Topologie virtuelle. Maillage pour la méthode des éléments finis : une petite marche génère de nombreux petits éléments, car des nœuds doivent être sur les arêtes (haut). La création d'une cellule virtuelle (fusion de faces et d'arêtes) relâche cette contrainte et permet d'avoir un maillage plus régulier, avec moins de nœuds et d'éléments (bas).
English: Virtual topology. Meshing for finite elemnts method: a small ledge (step) generates a lot of small elements, because nodes are forced to be on the edges (top). The creation of a virtual cell (merging of faces and edges) releases this constraints and allow a more regular meshing, with less nodes and elements (bottom).
