Description
Deutsch: Schwarze Kreide und Rötel, mit weißer Kreide gehöht Rubens‘ Sohn Nikolas mit Perlenkette- auf diesem Bild ungefähr ein Jahr alt - ist sicherlich eine der reizvollsten Zeichnungen der Albertina und zweifellos das berühmteste Kinderporträt überhaupt. Die dem Blatt namensgebende KXY gab man früher Kleinkindern um sie vor allerlei Unbill zu schützen. Rubens hat das Bildnis für den Kopf des Jesuskindes in dem Gemälde Die Heilige Familie (heute in der Gemäldegalerie Kassel) verwendet.
