Description
English:
St. George Serbian Orthodox church, Baroque. Built in 1733. Planned by András Mayerhoffer. Listed. At the corner of the fence is a Saint George Killing the Dragon ceramic niche (1970 works). Above the churchyard door is a Saint George, the Martyr stained glass window. There are gravestones built in the churchyard fence/and church facade. In the churchyard is an outdoor altar. A Saint George Killing the Dragon mosaic (2010s/2020s?) placed on facade above south entry. Also on facade is a Serbian language plaque (2006) and a 1838 flood level sign - 23 Veres Pálné Street=4 Szerb Street, Belváros (Inner City) neighbourhood, Belváros-Lipótváros district, Budapest.
Magyar:
Szent György Nagyvértanú szerb ortodox templom 1733-ban állították a salzburgi Mayerhoffer András (1690-1771) tervei szerint. A harangtorony csak 1752-re készült el. - Sárkányölő Szent György-kerámiakép, vas kereszttel-a kerítés sarokrészén,-1970-ben készült. A templomkert kapujának felső részén 'Szent György vértanúüvegképe' alkotás (fel/újra állítva 2014 v. után?). A templomépület falán 1838 évi árvíztábla (szerb feliratos vörösmárvány mészkő? kéz dombormű) - 'Görögkeleti szerb templom' azonosító: 618, törzsszám: 15459 - Budapest, Belváros-Lipótváros, Belváros városrész, Szerb utca 4 = Veres Pálné utca 23., helyrajzi szám: 23968, 23969, 23970.
