Description

El lago Trúc Bạch es uno de los muchos lagos de la ciudad de Hanoi.

Se conoce fuera de Vietnam como el sitio donde el futuro político de Estados Unidos John McCain aterrizó durante la Guerra de Vietnam después de ser derribado.

Está situado al noroeste del casco antiguo de Hanoi, inmediatamente adyacente a la orilla oriental del lago más grande de la ciudad, el Lago Occidental (Hồ Tây), una antigua rama del Río Mekong.

Fue separado del Lago Occidental por la construcción de un estrecho dique en el siglo 17 para permitir la cría de peces.

Los habitantes de la aldea de los Yenes de Truc, situada en la orilla del sur del nuevo lago, estaban en el negocio de fabricar persianas de bambú, y por lo tanto realizaban el cultivo de una pequeña variedad de éste.

En 1957 y 1958, el camino principal de Thanh Niên fue construido entre los lagos.
