English: This photo was first published as the illustration for a newspaper article headed "Trolley 'Buses: Progress of Overhead Wiring." The caption to the photo read: "Preparing for the Trolley 'Buses. Workmen fixing overhead wires in Wellington-street, Perth, in preparation for the new trolley 'bus service." Perth soon became the first Australian city to set up a permanent trolleybus system, when the Perth system was opened on 1 October 1933. |
