English: Aluminum coated multi-layer insulation (MLI). In this sample, the outer layer on the left is made of thicker materiel and coated with aluminum on both sides. The white netting is used as spacer between the layers. The inner layer sheet on the right is made of thinner material coated with aluminum on both sides. It is also crinkled to provide additional separation between the layers. This sample is also perforated to allow air passage during launch. |
