Studio of Robert W. Thrupp, By Appointment to Her Majesty, 66 New Street, Birmingham.

Bought from an eBay seller in Old Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.

Percy John Clemow (2 May 1865-23 April 1889), London-born West Bromwich boy. Died Rio de Janeiro, aged 23.

Robert White Thrupp (1821-1907), Birmingham portrait photographer. His studio at 66 New Street was established on 31st March 1862 in partnership with the Canadian-born American lithographer and photographer <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napoleon_Sarony" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Napoleon Sarony</a> and Samuel William Hill, stationer. Sarony returned to New York in 1866, and became a highly successful photographer of celebrities, perhaps most notably of <a href="https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/283247" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Oscar Wilde</a>.
