Summary
[edit]DescriptionPenrhyndeudraeth with Pwllheli - Chester train geograph-2820775-by-Ben-Brooksbank.jpg |
English: Pwllheli - Chester train at Penrhyndeudraeth. View eastward from the station platform up the Vale of Ffestiniog to Arenig Fawr (2,800 ft.) in the distance. The 17.30 from Pwllheii, headed by BR Standard 3MT 2-6-2T No. 82005 (built 5/52, withdrawn 9/65), is following the Cambrian Coast line, which will almost immediately swing right here and cross the estuary on a bridge shared with the toll-road. After Barmouth, at Morfa Mawddach it will turn east up to Dolgelley (now Dolgellau) and continue up the ex-GW line via Bala Junction and Llangollen to Ruabon, then Wrexham and eventually reach Chester at 22.35! |
