Description

Mr. T. Doyle of Yoletown Roller Mills, Wexford with a penny farthing bicycle. It is not clear whether this bike was Mr. Doyle's, or a rather exotic photographic studio prop.

Bob Montgomery 2012 said: "This is more correctly called an'Ordinary' and this appears to be the club model introduced by Coventry Machinists Company Limited in 1878. This was the classic touring bicycle. This looks as if it might be the full 56 inch model which was introduced about 1885.

When I get a chance I'll do a search in the volumes of The Irish Cyclist in the RIAC Archive and see if I can confirm any details about the rider."
