Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Pennukonda was a fort in Andhra to which the Vijayanagara kings would retire. The fort is nestled amidst the rolling Eastern ghats and lies in a valley giving it strategic advantage. The fort flanks a large water body - the Bhogasamudram lake. This is one of the entry gates to the fort and each entry has a temple with a 'Veer' Hanuman idol installed by Vijayanagar rajguru - the saint Vyasaraya
