McKeesport, and Pittsburgli. Miss Sara M. Murray, of the Orthopedic Hospital, Philadelphia,acted as Chief Nurse. Miss Murray performed her duties in the mostefficient manner, and contributed no little to the success of the workat Gettysburg. Miss Nellie M. Rennyson, of the Philadelphia GeneralHospital, and Miss Mary A. Clarke, of Philadelphia, acted as Assist-ants to Miss Murray. The nurses assigned to Field Hospital No. 1, U.S. A., were under Miss Anna C. Garrett, of the Pennsylvania Hospital,acting as Chief Nurse. Those assigned to the Provisional Field Hos-pital, U. S. A., were in charge of Mrs. E. C. Pretorius, of the SouthSide Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. (3) Thirty-three members of Miners First Aid teams were sent toassist in the work on the request of this Department from the follow-ing companies: The Philadelphia and Reading Coal and Iron Company,of Pottsville, Pa.; the H. C. Frick Coal and Coke Company, of Pitts-burgh, Pa.; the Fort Coal Company, of Scranton, Pa.; the Delaware,
