| Description |
English: Pennsylvania Pennsylvania UK is perhaps not quite so well known as Pennsylvania USA. It is certainly a little smaller. The land area of the US state is 46,055 square miles (119,281 km2). The area of this village is about 0.02 square miles (0.051 km2) and that's a generous estimate. You can drive from one end to the other in a little over 30 seconds at the posted speed limit. As to how this little corner of Gloucestershire came by its name, there is a possibility that the village was named after the American state by Quakers living in the city of Bristol about twenty miles away. Perhaps it was their way of acknowledging the achievements of William Penn, one of the most famous Quakers of all time. |
