| Description |
English: Pennine Way descends to East Friar House Many soggy Pennine Way walkers choose to walk the road from the Bowes alternative to rejoin the more westerly alternative at Clove Lodge (I'm pretty sure that's what we did in a wet summer 35 years ago). However, the proper way is down this track to East Friars House, passing to its right and round the back, then over a series of stiles for a mile going west. It is certainly a more wearing route, and not always obvious on the ground. |
