Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Pennine Way crosses Hunder Sike I remember the Pennine Way as 270 miles of continuously boggy paths, and revisiting sections 35 years later confirms my opinion. At least some of the stream crossings have these neat concrete stepping stones, always with the pointed end upstream to split the flow. Here, Hunder Sike meets the Pennine Way just upstream of a wall which helps to make it wider and boggier - or perhaps that is the effect of a generation or so of boots widening and deepening the stream before the stones were added. In the distance is Goldsborough, usually passed on the same day's walking as this section.
