| Description |
English: Disused signal box at Penmaenpool This signal box is situated at the site of the former Penmaenpool station on the line from Ruabon to Barmouth. The line closed in the 1960s and the part of the trackbed was converted into the Mawddach trail. The signal box is owned by the National Park Authority and has been turned into a nature observatory. On the day that I visited in July 2014 the box was closed and there was a notice calling for volunteers to man it. |
