Description
English: Penistone - St John's Gardens Entering St John’s Gardens from Shrewsbury Road you pass through a metal arch which incorporates this abacus. The beads are made of metal and can be easily passed to and fro. Why is this abacus here? Nicholas Saunderson was a mathematician who lost his sight when an infant.
