| Description |
English: Penfold Victorian pillar box, Tetbury This is a well-maintained example of the famous Penfold Victorian pillar-boxes. It is situated on a green owned by the town Feoffees. The original feoffees bought the town from Lord Berkeley in the 17th century according to Tetbury Online.
It may be of interest to compare this example with one in Cheltenham photographed by Pauline Eccles https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1224228 where it appears that the flowerbud on top has been removed at some time. |
