Italiano: Una sfera di piombo ricoperta di ferro è sospesa al soffitto per mezzo di un lungo cavo di acciaio. Il cavo si aggancia alla soletta per mezzo di uno snodo cardanico che ne consente la libera oscillazione in tutte le direzioni (attriti permettendo). Nella parte inferiore della sfera è avvitato un puntale che però è di lunghezza tale da non toccare il pavimento. Sul pavimento, esattamente sotto al pendolo e perfettamente centrato rispetto al punto di sospensione, è posizionato un disco di grande dimensioni realizzato a mosaico con tessere variamente colorate raffiguranti la rosa dei venti Il pendolo può essere messo in oscillazione (da un operatore autorizzato) per dimostrare il fenomeno della rotazione terrestre.
