...La figure 3 donne en A la projection horizontale de l'une des coupoles de Saint-Front. Les quatre piliers qui portent les arcs-doubleaux recevant les pendentifs sont en B. Effrayé peut-être du surplomb qu'allaient former les quatre pendentifs, s'ils étaient engendrés par un demi-cercle, l'architecte de Saint-Front eut l'idée d'engendrer ces pendentifs au moyen d'une courbe brisée abc (voy. la coupe C)...
