Description
Français : Une goutte d'eau (à gauche) ou de polyéthylène glycol (PEG) (à droite) introduite par une seringue de diamètre 0,5 mm dans une cuve d'huile de ricin.

Les gouttes ont des formes différentes car la tension de surface eau/huile de ricin et PEG/huile de ricin sont différentes.

Le contraste entre la goutte et le milieu n'est pas le même car les écarts d'indice de réfraction sont différents.

The drops look different because the water/castor oil and PEG/castor oil tension surfaces are different.

The contrast between drop and environment are not the same because the refractive indexes gap are different.
