Description
English: Portion of a late 19th century map showing (in pink) the island of Penang with its two mainland dependencies: Province Wellesley (directly facing Penang) and, to the south, the Dindings, all under direct British rule. Acquired from the Sultan of Perak in 1874, the Dindings were retroceded to Perak in 1935. (Info and photo taken from the Penang Monthly, April 2017 article: "When Penang and the Dindings Were One".
