Summary
[edit]DescriptionPen-y-Bryn, Llansilin - geograph.org.uk - 354644.jpg |
English: Pen-y-Bryn, Llansilin This beautiful house (with the half timbered front at right of this view) belonged to my parents-in-law, Charles (now deceased)and Pat Shelley from 1969 to 1995. The basic shell of the building dates to early 1400's with wonderful cruck beams carved exactly like the ones in the church in Llansilin a mile away.
My children's childhoods are replete with their memories of wonderful summer holidays here, including the drought summer of 76 when the entire area looked like central Spain! This picture was taken in 2006 from the road, and there have been considerable changes to the big barn (middle of picture) which I believe now contains additional dwelling space which it never had in our days there. |
