Description

Fur carpet from Vienna, Austria.

Amazonenjagd. Wandteppich von A. GOLDSCHMIEDT, Wien, einem der Begründer und Künstler der modernen Mosaik. Grösse: 4 m. Breite; 2 1/2 m. Höhe.(sic!) Das Hauptmaterial ist niederes teilweise bunt gefärbtes Lammfell. Die Figuren sind in natürlicher Grösse. Die Hunde sind wirkliche Hundefelle; Die Bekleidung der Amazonen ist Leopardenfell. Der übrige Teil aus Lammfellen verschiedener Farbe und Rauche.
Chasse d'Amazones. Tapis décoratif, fait par A. GOLDSCHMIEDT, de Vienne, qui est un des premiers rénovateurs et artistes de ce genre de travail. Grandeur 4 m. x 2 m.50. Les fourrures les plus employées sont des peaux d'agneaux naturelles, blanches et noires, ou colorées avec de vives couleurs. Les chiens sont en peaux de chiens et les manteaux des amazones en léopard.

Amazon-Huntswomen. Designed and executed by A. GOLDSCHMIEDT, Vienna (Austria). The executor of this carpet is one of the pricipal pioneers and renovators in the special kind of work, namely Mosaik. Dimensions: Height, 13 feet 4 inches; Breadth 8 feet 4 inches. The principal furs employed being black and white lambskins, the whole being dyed and coloured in very imposing colours, the dogs are made from dog-skins and the robes of the Amazons from leopard-skins.
