This remained unimprovedfor some weeks when he was able to walk dragging the rightleg, but had no use of the right arm. The child is today, after the lapse of over threeyears from the appearance of the hemiplegia, bright, intelli-gent and well-grown, and shows not a trace of the palsy whichwas so long complete. He uses the left hand by preference,having become left-handed through the long period of disuseof the right side; but I can note no difference in the power of 112 PEDIATRICS. the grasp of the two hands. He is, if anything, superior inmental and physical development to his twin sister who hasnever had a serious illness. The accompanying photographshows the use the patient has of arm and leg and the relativedevelopment of the two sides. The treatment used in this casewas 10 gr. potassium iodide per diem in divided doses, continuedfor several months.
