Description
Peder Mønsted spent many summers painting, based in the town of Sæby in Northern Jutland. Here he must have met the author Gustav Wied, who lived there 1894-1897. The painting appears to be a gift from Mønsted to Wied and the experts at Bruun Rasmussen suggested that it depicts the woods of Sæbygaard Skov.
